June 12, 2013 - Moving Beyond the Law to Avoid Employment LitigationOur June 2013 GPSHRM Chapter Meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at The Angus Restaurant on Scenic Highway. Networking and Registration begins at 11:15 and lunch will be served until 12 noon, when our program will begin.
We are pleased to have R. Bradley Adams, an attorney with Littler Mendelson, Mobile, AL, as our speaker. Bradley advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters arising under state and federal laws.
His practice is primarily devoted to defending employers in connection with claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other employment-related issues in state and federal courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other administrative agencies.
Despite the extensive time and resources many employers devote trying to prevent employment lawsuits, many still routinely face costly employment litigation. This month's presentation explores some of the potential reasons for this unfortunate predicament and offers general strategies for helping employers prevent employment litigation--strategies that are broader than the legalistic approach that is often relied upon to address employment issues.

The meeting cost is $20 for GPSHRM members, $10 for Student Members, and $25 for guests. If you attend as a Guest and join the chapter within 30 days of the event, you will receive a $10 discount on your current year dues.
