Certification: A Closer Look
I would like to invite you to our next meeting to be held at New World Landing on Wednesday, July 9 from 11:30 am - 1 pm. Our speaker will be Harold Winkler, SPHR and he will be presenting "Certification: A Closer Look." Mr. Winkler will talk about HR certification - who is getting certified and why, as well as information about how the tests are developed and possible future certifications.Mr. Winkler is currently the project manager in Ethics and Compliance for the Southern Company in Atlanta. In this role, Mr. Winkler develops ethics strategies, training and messaging for Southern’s workforce of 26,000. Before joining Southern Company, Mr. Winkler served at one of its subsidiaries, Georgia Power. There, he managed staffing, benefits administration, HR Information Technology, and HR field offices throughout Georgia. He also served in Labor Relations and other HR roles. Mr. Winkler has spoken at conferences sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Transportation, The Conference Board, the Edison Electric Institute, major law firms, Chambers of Commerce, and civic organizations. He has been quoted in Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Economist.
