We’re excited to announce a new scholarship opportunity

for members pursuing SHRM certification!

Greater Pensacola SHRM (GPSHRM) recognizes the importance of HR professionals obtaining the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation to demonstrate mastery of the profession. To support and encourage our members in obtaining this esteemed designation, GPSHRM will award eligible individuals with a certification scholarship during the Spring and Fall certification sessions. Scholarship availability will be based on availability of Chapter funds.

Purpose

The purpose of the GPSHRM Certification Scholarship program is to offer financial assistance to individuals who seek SHRM certification and whose employer does not provide financial assistance toward study group registration nor the purchase of the SHRM Learning System materials.

To qualify for the GPSHRM Certification Scholarship, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be a current GPSHRM member in good standing at the time of application.
• Meet the eligibility requirements for the SHRM Certification (visit https://www.shrm.org/credentials/certification for requirements.)
• If looking for financial assistance for the SHRM certification prep course, register for the GPSHRM certification prep course (GPSHRM certification prep course registration fees will be reimbursed for scholarship recipients upon completion of the course.)
• If looking for financial assistance for the SHRM certification exam, register and sit for the exam within the session window of the time of scholarship application (GPSHRM certification exam registration will be reimbursed for scholarship recipients upon completion of the exam.)
• Certify that they will not receive any employer organization support or reimbursement for GPSHRM certification prep course or SHRM certification exam.
• Active GPSHRM Board members and the Certification Chair are not eligible for scholarships.

All scholarship applications are reviewed and approved by a quorum of the GPSHRM Board of Directors and the Certification Chairperson.

How to

Apply

Application deadlines are established 2 times per calendar year, based on dates coinciding with the GPSHRM certification prep course, scheduled each Spring and Fall. Applications are reviewed and approved by the GPSHRM Board of Directors and Certification Chairperson. Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.

Prior to disbursement of the SHRM certification prep course scholarship funds, registration and completion of the SHRM certification prep course within the applicable award period is required.

Prior to disbursement of the SHRM certification exam scholarship funds, registration and taking the exam within the applicable award period is required. Passing of Certification exam is not required, although it is expected that each scholarship recipient will diligently prepare for the purpose of passing the exam.
